Southern Idaho Tour

Last week/weekend we headed to southern Idaho. I went up to City of Rocks with a friend on Tuesday and climbed until Friday. I was a real slacker about pictures for some reason. I only fired off one shot and it was kind of a dumb shot at the base of a route. I guess I was way too into the climbing, which was amazing as usual. The buddy I went with had still not done some of the most classic routes there so we got a on couple routes I haven't done in a while. All I can say is, City of Rocks is a very special place!!

Friday my friend was headed back home to Portland, OR on the way he dropped me off in Wendel, ID (16 miles west of Twin Falls) where I met Claudia and Myelle. They drove up on Thursday to visit Claudia's grandma. After Wendel we were headed to Badger Creek for an employee reunion. It's an outdoor camp near Driggs, ID that Claudia worked at for a summer back in '98. We decided to spend Friday night in Wendel which turned out to be a great thing since Myelle ended up throwing up a few times that night and only getting about 5 hours of sleep.

The next day we started headed east. As we drove and approached the I-86/I-84 cutoff it was decision time. Since Myelle had been sick the night before we were considering skipping Badger and heading home. Claudia was pretty disappointed at the thought of missing the reunion and Myelle seemed a bit better so we headed to Badger. Lots of people were there with their families doing the activities provided at the camp. Myelle and I went on our first ride in a canoe. We also fed horses and watched people dangle on the ropes courses. That night they had a camp fire which was the first time Myelle heard the hoki poki...which she loved and has been singing.

Barfing and only 5 hours of sleep the night before and a 45 minute nap during the day....this girl is pooped!
This pictures looks like it should be a Subi ad. That's the Tetons on the background.
It was a little tighter in the Subaru compared to the van. This is Myelle in her cocoon. We need a box for the rack.
