Mammoth, CA & Beyond

The snow was ... ice. The trip was TERRIFIC.

One night at dinner we decided we would finally go visit Brian's old rommate, Dan at Mammoth Lakes, California. So, off we went. We decided to fly for President's Day weekend-get the most out of our vacation time.

Myelle LOVED flying. She's been talking about airplanes ever since our return. Here she is chillin in her own seat. Which lasted all of 2 minutes. But hey. She's only 21 months old.

We must've been insane to go to Mammoth Mountain ski resort on President's Day weekend---I swear every man woman and child from LA County straps on their skis and heads for Mammoth for their yearly ski outing. Several people asked us on the way out of town why we were leaving Utah powder for Sierra Cement. Lemme tell you: it was somewhere else, Oma and Opa babysat Myelle while we skied in Mammoth for 2 whole days (wow!), and we got the employee hookup for the normally $80/day lift tickets. Good enough for me. I learned that snowboarding on ice is a whole world away from riding dry, fluffy, Utah powder. We had a blast anyway--enjoyed the clean air and breathtaking views.

Myelle kept Oma and Opa in line in Yerington while we were gone. She even called Opa with Brian's cell phone to tell him that it was time to get up from her nap and change her poopy diaper. When we returned we spent an afternoon with Maggie and Jacob and Melanie and Robert in Reno. Myelle even gave Jacob some makeup tips.

Here's our trip in summary.

Wow Mammoth looks really pretty...and windy, but at least pretty. Sounds fun, glad the weekend was a success.
