Nellie obliterated her knee. We suspected there were problems for over a year, but she's so dang tough and such a great mountain biking dog, we just kept hoping it would go away. We finally listened to the vet and made the decision to take her under the knife. The vet said when he opened her up, her lateral miniscus was torn to shreds and her ACL was completely MIA. So, there you go. Nellie's one tough pup.
The cast is off, the staples are out, and we're all on the road to recovery. She should be back to normal in 2 1/2 months or so. Let's hope we all survive until then!

Wow, I bet Nellies going insane. If ever there were a dog who would not do well with a cast like that it's Nellie...I've just never seen anything like that; a cone on the head pales in comparison.
