Ibex, Utah - Memorial Day Weekend

We finally went to a climbing area called Ibex in the west desert near Delta, UT. We also went over to Great Basin National Park to see where Claudia spent a few years as a little girl growing up. Lets just say I understand her a WHOLE lot more now. It's actually quite a beautiful place. To give you an idea of remote this place is here is a quote overheard at the Border Inn, a small gas station/bar/casino/motel on the Utah/Nevada border. "There's millions of 'em!" The ~10 year old girl who said this was refering to the people from the 8 cars parked there.

When we showed up it started to rain so we set up camp between a boulder and the van that night. After some engineering to level the van for sleeping (see 1st photo) we ate some dinner under the tarp.

We discovered yet another great use of the bouldering pad.

Myelle insisted she have her sunglasses on by the fire. Don't ask us why....

Our failed attempt at flying a kite. Myelle is very unimpressed as you can see.

This post puts a big smile on my face. I wondered how you fared the weather...I see you handled it in usual Gallegos style! Bummer we missed another trip.
