New years day we headed to Alta for some more time on the rope tow. Mimi & Papa came with, to watch their grand daughter in action on the slopes. That day was Myelle's third on skis in the mountains and the second day on this rope tow. On day one at this rope tow she mastered stopping using her "pizza". Next she needed to master turning before we would get back on the lift. And, as she did with stopping, she figured steering out very quickly....that is after I got her to slow down and concentrate on it. All pictures from the day are compliments of Mimi.
After her little tumble she was most upset about the snow in her face. As soon as we got that cleared away she was ready for more.
The Saturday after new years day brought more skiing. When your kid is picking it up this well, you want to give them every chance to ski and become better, and have FUN! By the end of skiing the previous day it was clear Myelle was done with the rope tow. We went up and headed straight for the lift. She has become an old pro at the lift and is even getting off completely by herself. She also graduated from using her "wedgy", the clip holding her tips together.
This was the first run without the "wedgy". I was also trying to teach her the concept of going fast to get across flats. I think she let the speed go a bit too early. Again the thing she disliked most was the snow in her face.
